PROSPECTIVE DIRECTIONS OF ECOLOGIZATION OF DOMESTIC HOTEL ENTERPRISES

Abstract

The article is dedicated to the important and timely topic of greening, which has become an integral component of modern development for enterprises in the hospitality industry. Today, ecology has become not just a separate area but a fully-fledged operational concept embraced by many hotels. It opens up significant advantages, including reducing the cost of hotel services by creating favorable natural conditions, enhancing the tourist appeal of accommodations, and achieving competitive advantages in the market. Moreover, most contemporary consumers prioritize eco-friendly accommodation, highlighting the importance of implementing ecological initiatives in this sector. The study outlines key tasks for minimizing the negative environmental impact of hotel operations. Specifically, it emphasizes adapting international ecological practices to the conditions of the domestic hospitality market. These practices include effective eco-initiatives such as energy efficiency, water resource conservation, waste management, the use of environmentally friendly materials, and adherence to sustainable development principles. Particular attention is paid to the prospects of introducing innovations in food waste management. The main methods of food waste management include: prevention of food waste generation, reuse and redistribution of food products, processing of food waste, proper disposal. The research explores the phased implementation of a specialized composting machine and eco-friendly dishware within a proposed hotel in Slavske, Lviv region. This approach not only supports the preservation of the natural environment but also fosters ecological awareness among society and hotel staff. Guests at such establishments will have the opportunity to enjoy a harmonious connection with nature, positively impacting their health and overall experience. In conclusion, greening hospitality enterprises represents an essential and promising direction for the sustainable development of the industry. It ensures economic efficiency, provides social benefits, and preserves natural resources for future generations.
